Al-Mithnab 132/13.8kV Underground Cable Works
Project Overview
DDCC is executing the underground cable works for the Al-Mithnab 132/13.8kV Substation Interconnection project (Contract SCTR-29) in the Al-Qassim Region. As the electrical subcontractor under the AUVA/Madkour Joint Venture, DDCC is responsible for the complete supply and installation of the 132kV high-voltage underground cable network connecting the Al-Mithnab substation to the Saudi Electricity Company's transmission grid.
The project scope spans multiple sections across the Al-Mithnab area, encompassing extensive civil earthworks including trench excavation, reinforced concrete duct bank construction with block wall protection systems, cable pulling and laying operations, high-voltage cable jointing and termination works, and HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) crossings at road and utility intersections throughout the cable route.
The Al-Mithnab project is a critical component of SEC's regional transmission network expansion in Al-Qassim, supporting the area's growing power demands and strengthening grid reliability in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 energy infrastructure objectives.
